cem’s embroidery
Chiemi Tachihara
・It was my first time to use wild silk thread for embroidery. In order to make it easy to see the difference in feel and finish compared to the cotton embroidery thread that I usually use, I embroidered the work that I always make, not the new one.
・It was firmer than cotton and was less likely to get tangled.
・Durable and resistant to friction and catching, it did not break even when pulled strongly. (As the cotton thread is pierced with felt many times, it becomes fuzzy due to friction and may break if pulled strongly.)
・Because it does not fluff, it has a very sharp and clean finish.
・The finished work looks more solid than usual, but it feels lighter than usual.
・It has a glossy and luxurious feel, and the brilliance depending on the angle is very beautiful.
・French knot stitch, which is wound many times, was difficult because the thread was difficult to slip. I think it will be fine if you use it in the future and get used to the thread and get the hang of it.
・ Basically, I stabbed with 2 sticks and 1 stick, but I also tried 3 sticks and 5 sticks partially. However, since each piece is solid and firm, it is difficult to put together, so there is a trick to aligning them. It took a long time. Overall, the production with wild silk was very fresh and fun, and I was excited.
